2026 Season · F-100C Super Sabre

Virtual Skyblazers

We recreate the aerial demonstration of the USAFE Skyblazers — entertaining the community while bringing back a nearly forgotten piece of American aerobatic display history.

Latest show — SVAF 2026 · F-100C debut

Who we are

“The Virtual Skyblazers recreate the aerial demonstration of the Skyblazers, an aerial demonstration team of the United States Air Force in Europe (USAFE). Our pilots are located around the world, all with varying levels of real life aviation experience. We seek to entertain the community while accurately recreating a nearly forgotten piece of American aerobatic display history.”

We fly in DCS World — a detailed combat flight simulator. The 2026 season puts us in the F-100C Super Sabre, after years flying the F-86F Sabre. Four-ship diamond, solo passes, and showmanship for virtual air festivals worldwide.

We are not affiliated with the United States Air Force or any official USAFE unit. We are an independent community tribute team.

  • Precision Tight diamond, clean breaks, repeatable passes.
  • Heritage Inspired by USAFE’s Skyblazers, 1949–1962.
  • Community Discord-first — practice, shows, and welcome watchers.

Heritage

The real USAFE Skyblazers were the United States Air Forces in Europe aerobatic demonstration team, active from 1949 to 1962. They formed in early 1949 with pilots of the 22nd Fighter Squadron, 36th Fighter Wing, based at Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany. Their first jets were F-80B Shooting Stars; headquarters USAFE tasked the team in May 1949, and the first performance was in October 1949 at RAF Gütersloh — the second jet demo team in the U.S. Air Force.

Over the years they flew several types; later eras are often remembered for the F-86F Sabre diamond look. Virtual Skyblazers carry that spirit into the sim: first the Sabre, now the F-100C Super Sabre for 2026.

We are a virtual tribute — not an official USAF or USAFE team. We borrow the name and the craft: tight formation, showmanship, and pride in the diamond.
